I have worked in the video game industry for nearly 30 years. I have worked in some of the biggest game studios and helped make some of the biggest game franchises. In those three decades I have developed dozens of ideas for games that never saw the light of day. With the rising costs and team sizes needed to make games these days, I pretty much gave up the idea of ever releasing these ideas as games.
But a year and a half ago, something changed…
I played the board game Eldritch Horror with some friends, and got the crazy idea to take the events of that board game and write it into a story. I thought this would be a fun little project that I might spend a few weeks doing then print it out and I would be done with it. I did not start out with the idea to create a book. I did not plan to write over 300 pages of historically researched and detailed accounts of the character’s travels across the globe to stop a supernatural evil.
What came about was a Cthulhian Horror Action/Adventure set against the backdrop of H.P. Lovecraft’s Cosmic Horror universe in 1920.
I finished that book, and didn’t want to stop…
So here I am, a year later still writing, with an ever growing list ideas just waiting for a chance to come into existence. I do not write in a single genre, so I can’t promise you that you will always get a single type of book from me. I love fantasy, sci-fi, horror, dystopian, apocalyptic, and several other types of fiction. I didn’t even know I had a love of Historical Fiction until I wrote my first book. So I wont be the King of Horror, or the Martin of Fantasy. I won’t only write horror or science fiction or robot apocalypse books.
I will write them all… and that is why this is The Impossible Library.
If you choose to get on this ride with me, it will be on the back of a Spaceship, powered by the heart of a dragon, and fed with the burning souls of the damned as I drive it into the eye of a screaming malstrom that bridges the void between worlds.
I might not always write ‘Your Favorite’ kind of fiction. But as long as I have you cheering me on, I will do my level best to keep sharing the things I love to write, and will always try to listen and answer when I have the time.
